In the attempt to improve people’s social interactions, different wearable technologies have been exploited to display personal information to nearby others. Despite the possibilities offered by the placement of mobile devices in everyday life, such collocated information sharing has rarely been investigated over different contexts.
We explore people's motivations, attitudes and practices around sharing representations of self in six public settings of a Nordic metropolitan area (i.e., Helsinki and Espoo in Finland). We argue for designing personal wearable displays that cater for the needs of introverts and extroverts differently.
